Students experiencing a psychological emergency can be seen immediately in Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). During regular office hours (Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00a.m. to 12:30p.m), a student can simply "show up" and be seen. Crisis services are offered after hours when students are experiencing psychological emergencies such as suicidal behavior, sexual assault or psychotic thoughts. A counselor can be reached after hours by contacting Public Safety at 843-349-2911.

Do not contact counselors via email, particularly in a crisis situation. Email is not considered a confidential, secure form of communication and counselors may not regularly monitor email.
