CCU Food Crew announces the launch of Costa Rican RainForest Artesian Water in Coastal Carolina University-branded aluminum bottles. With a commitment to sustainability and reducing single-use plastics, CCU Food Crew brings a refreshing solution to campus hydration.

Themed “From the RainForest to Teal Nation,” the CCU-branded aluminum water bottles are 100% recyclable from cap to design. The water bottles are available across the University’s campus at concession stands, POD stores, and through catering, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic bottles.

CCU Food Crew prioritizes embedded circularity, ensuring that materials stay in the economy and out of the environment. Unlike plastic, aluminum is infinitely recyclable, maintaining its quality through multiple lifecycles and reducing waste in our oceans and ecosystems.

“We are excited about what this means for the University,” said Darcy Coughlan, director of Sustain Coastal. “It’s another example of how CCU is supporting the reduction of single-use plastics and using its purchasing power to offer sustainable alternatives and build pathways to zero waste operations.”

Sourced from a protected rainforest mountain in Costa Rica, Costa Rican RainForest Artesian Water embodies sustainability. The water flows naturally to the surface by underground pressure, requiring no additional energy for extraction.

“Costa Rican RainForest Water offers our campus community a refreshing and sustainable option, reflecting our commitment to campus well-being,” said Malissa Ivey, resident district manager for CCU Food Crew.
