Vice President - Hailey Melton

Hailey Melton imageAs a new member of Staff Senate, I am eager and excited to represent my constituents. I have big shoes to fill as Vice President, but my goal is to open the lines of communication to ensure that all staff feel heard and valued.

I was born in Homestead, Florida but was raised in Conway, South Carolina. After graduating from Carolina Forest High School (Go Panthers), I attended the University of South Carolina where I earned a BA in Public Health in 2014. Serving as a University Ambassador (tour guide) all four years as an undergraduate student ignited my passion for higher education. After I graduated, I worked in USC Admissions Office as a freshman admissions counselor recruiting students for my alma mater.

I moved back to Conway, and from 2015 to 2019, worked in the Admissions Office at Coastal Carolina University, first as a freshman and transfer admissions counselor, and then as the Assistant Director of Merit Awards. During this time, I earned my MBA from the Wall College of Business.

I now work in University Advising as the Academic Advisor for Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts majors: Art History, Graphic Design, Interdisciplinary Studies (last names A-H), Music, and Music Education. I advise freshman and sophomore students (all four years for IDS) to ensure they are on track with their academic requirements, meet their professional and educational goals, and know how to navigate resources on campus.

I have two Golden Retrievers, and during my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We stay busy locally and love going to festivals, farmers markets, and events in the area.
